Meet the Teachers

After working with special needs children in the local school district for 13 years, in 2009 I made the choice to dive into Early Childhood Education and began my career as a preschool teacher. I am a mom of 2 adult children, and a dog mom to 5 Chihuahuas! In my free time I love traveling, shopping, reading and camping.
I truly believe that teaching, especially children, is a calling. It is also about not just being a good teacher, but also the teacher allowing themselves to continually be learners themselves and allowing God to mold and shape and equip them for the work ahead! I’ve been in education for 15 years. . I ’m a mother to two college students, a son named Logan and a daughter named Madison. I Loves cats, dogs, writing, traveling, shoes, and the Lord. I’m Learning to play the violin (very slowly). I’m working towards degree in sociology: currently, my classes are at UCLA in behavior, self-esteem for children and supervision and administration.
I have been in the field of teaching for about 5 years. I spent my first year as a substitute for different age groups and my other years of teaching as a preschool teacher. I was inspired to enter the field of education by my cousin, who is on the Autism Spectrum, and although my field of education has changed to occupational therapy, I still have a heart to work with young children. From a young age, have known that I wanted to make an impact on young children’s lives. I graduated in 2017 with my associates in child development and then graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with my bachelors in spring 2020, and hope to enter a master’s program for occupational therapy. During my free time I love to read, and I love to be outdoors whether it’s hiking, running, or riding bikes.
My name is Ms. Brenda, I attended El Camino College and Santa Monica College to earn my Child Development Units. I have been an early educator for 7 years and it has been such a rewarding career! My favorite part about being an early educator is knowing we are helping shape the leaders of tomorrow and setting the foundation for their success. As a teacher, I love introducing academics through play. I also enjoy implementing The Arts into my curriculum. My favorite activities with the children are reading books together, dramatic play and art projects! My hobbies include reading a good novel, crafting, movie watching, and going to Disneyland with my husband.
